Installing OpenELEC on the Raspberry Pi

This is a brief tutorial on how to install the Open Embedded Linux Entertainment Center on your Raspberry Pi from within Windows.

First of all get one of the images from there: http://sparky0815.de/openelec-download-images-fat-files/

Next you need to get the USB Image Tool: http://www.alexpage.de/usb-image-tool/download/

 

Now unpack the image using 7 zip for example.

Then format your SD Card, this is just so the USB Image Tool can find it.

After that open up USB Image Tool.exe, select your SD card on the left, click on restore and select the OpenELEC image.

Now you just have to wait until it’s done.
